Jo Barker is a passionate advocate for Conservative values and an energetic force within the West Midlands Conservative Party. A mum, wife, entrepreneur, and self-confessed political addict, Jo brings a unique blend of tenacity, creativity, and wit to her role as Deputy Chairman for Membership and Fundraising.
Describing herself as "loyal, disruptive, awkward, and often incandescent," Jo is a self-professed "grit in the oyster," constantly seeking change and improvement. Her political journey began in 1979 when Margaret Thatcher’s election saved her school from the hands of "socialist wreckers." Now, 45 years later, Jo is fighting back against what she sees as the politics of envy, spurred by policies that have closed schools like the one that shaped her early life.
Outside of politics, Jo is an entrepreneur and proud owner of a mischievous Boston Terrier—affectionately referred to as "the terrorist." Jo's role is to energise membership, encourage participation, and ensure fundraising success, all with her signature style and determination.
She’s here to fight for what she believes in, inspire members across the region, and—if your pockets are deep enough—secure the resources needed to keep the Conservative movement thriving.
