This year's West Midlands Conservative Curry Club Christmas event, Masala Monday, featured Eddie Hughes MP. Guests from across the Region gathered at Mahirs Experience's pop up restaurant decorated for the Christmas spirit.
Eddie talked about the network being "a kindred spirit of emotional conservatives". He is a proud working-class Tory, and his work ethic from his parents has informed his politics more than anything else. He talked about attending night school studying A-level Politics, and analysing both the Labour and Conservative Manifestos in 1992, which finally cemented his allegiance to the Conservative Party.
He showed gratitude for the support and guidance Councillor Mike Bird gave him in driving his career in local politics. Enjoying the Masala Monday Christmas Dress code and wearing his Elf jumper, we all listened to Eddie on how politics is more than just policy. How we make people feel is as important, and as a Party, we aspire for "individuals to be the best they can be without the government getting in their way".
The night was supported by past Chairmen Jim Cooper and Brian Tustain, and guests included volunteers, activists and business owners. The event was managed by a cross-section of volunteers and members, notably Wasim Zaman, Liam Abrahams, Naeem Arif and Tom Byrne supporting the Regional Team.
